Nurse Practitioner
I am Sydni Niernberger, Nurse Practitioner and Primary Care Provider. I joined the First Care Clinic team in August 2025. I received my undergraduate degree at Fort Hays State University, and my doctorate at Washburn University, graduating in 2023. I am board certified with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be a nurse. I love meeting new people and getting to help them every day. Healthcare is a way I can give back to my patients in the community I love!
As a provider, I am most passionate about preventatives! Staying up to date on preventatives can help people have a long, healthy life. Something that excites me about my work is meeting new people/patients and creating a relationship with all of them. I love getting to know each patient individually. Humans are so unique in not only health, but their likes, dislikes, interests, and hobbies as well. It’s fun to get to know people on not only a health level but a personal level. This creates such a positive patient/provider relationship which leads to positive patient outcomes.
Outside of work, you can most often find me spending time with my husband and daughter. We love to be outside playing chalk, going for walks, or going to the park. I also enjoy baking and spending time with the rest of my family – whether it be going to dinner or just spending a Friday night in! My personal passion is my family. Throughout my time in healthcare, I have seen life, and I have been exposed to how quickly things can change for families. Spending time with the people I love the most, as often as I can, means the most to me. Soaking up the moments and memories that I will forever hold near and dear to my heart, because life is short, and it is oh so beautiful surrounded by the people you love!
To me, nursing feels like more than just a career – it is a calling that has rooted me in compassion, service, and human connection. It allows me to be present in some of the vulnerable moments in a person’s life. This profession allows me to not just offer my clinical expertise, but also provide empathy, dignity to the patients, and hope.
